Ninh Binh is about 93 km away from Hanoi to the south and located in a strategic position during thousand years of Vietnam’s history. In Ninh Binh, there are forests, beaches, midland, highland and lowland. All those are considered to be a miniature Vietnam.
With this trip, we will have time at the historic site of Hoa Lu and beautiful boat trip at Trang An. And Co Vien Lau Village offers a unique glimpse into an older way of life in northern Vietnam’s Red River Delta.

Details Itinerary
Day 01: Hanoi – Hoa Lu
Pick up at hotel and depart for Ninh Binh in the morning. It is a two and half hour drive southeast of Hanoi to the former Vietnam capital city – Hoa Lu (968 – 1009). Visit Hoa Lu with the Dinh and Le Temples as well as Citadel traces. The ancient Hoa Lu Citadel (most of which has since been destroyed) once covered an area of three square kilometers. Apart from the historical importance, keep heading to Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourist area where Co Vien Lau’s 18th-20th century houses are nestled amid.
After lunch, we can see Co Vien Lau’s cultural collections linked with traditional development of Vietnam during the past and enjoy a leisure cycling to Bich Dong – A Pagoda set in to the limestone cave in greenness as Jade.
Return to Co Vien Lau for overnight.
Day 02: Hoa Lu – Trang An – Hanoi
After breakfast, we take around 10 km drive to Trang An, a nature reserve similar to Tam Coc however less visited. Limestone hills surround a peaceful river which passes through a series of caves (one which takes 15-minutes to pass through in darkness). An 'eco tourism' area, the only interruptions here are the sound of birds and the gentle paddle of the oar upon the crystal clear river. If wishing, we can stop over at temples during boating.
3 –hour boat trip ends, we will get on vehicle for a transfer back to Hanoi. Drop of at hotel and End of services.
